The news coverage is bugging me now. At first the nuclear stuff was reasonable, now its being overblown and the media capitalising of peoples natural fear of anything nuclear. I also felt nauseous over the bbc's 10 minuet long segment on the work British "experts" are doing to help Japan, as if the handful of people we sent are even a drop in the ocean (so to speak) , plus the fact the news reader kept saying "Expert" like it meant anything, the level of preparation of the average citizen in Japan for earthquakes is probably what classifies as a British expert anyway. The way the media tells us about the "aid" were sending and what we as a nation are doing comes off to me as being some poor holier than thou act, as if we are doing as much (relative) as other nations. This by no means be-little s any of the great work or donations made by individuals just the media reporting it like as a country we've lept up and single handedly put Japan right sickens me no end.

But isn't that exactly what we do? It's always the way of it - the reports are on how we're helping and little else. I agree though with the fact that every little probably does help...
My thoughts, hopes and fears are with the people of Japan right now...
