Okay ladies and gents ^^
As people may or may not have realised, last night was the first time I was unable to reply to every thread on our lovely forum here ^^. I think it is therefore safe to say that when one person can't keep up with everything going on on the board it means we are seriously active!!! Lol.
So me and faye-san are going to need a bit of help soon ^^.
Here's how things are going to go -
We're going to post announcements in this board when we have a staff position that we think is necessary to be filled. We're going to base this on which boards are the busiest ^^.
Does this all make sense? Okay lets get this show on the road -
The Positions:- GFX Sub-Board Moderator
- Japanese Music Sub-Board Moderator
- Introductions Sub-Board Moderator
The Expectations:
GFX Mod: You will be expected to monitor the GFX sub-board of the Arts and Literature board. This includes -
Making sure that there is no offensive images on the board.
Being active in critiquing and commenting on people's work.
Being responsible for any community chat threads created. (It is not against rules for other members to create such threads but it is advised that the Moderator offer such topics so that members don't have to).
Welcoming new artists to the board.
Being generally friendly and accessible.
J-Music Mod: You will be expected to monitor the Music sub-board of the Japanese Culture board. This includes -
Monitoring the content use within threads. As in - making sure there are no ads attached to music videos shown, or that there are no offensive images in conversation threads.
Being responsible for maintaining the peace if and when any music fangirl disputes break out. Heehee.
Keeping the forum up to date with the world of music and what is going on in the UK.
Being responsible for any community chat threads created. Obviously it's a discussion board and people will create their own chat threads but if any random chat threads are to be created, it would be helpful if the Moderator created them.
Introductions Mod: You will be expected to monitor the Introductions sub-board of the General Discussion board. This includes -
Being active in welcoming each new member to the forum ^^. Or at least as best as you can ^^ Depends how busy we get lol.
Again monitoring content use is important as we don't want to get warned by Proboards bosses lol.
Making sure that there are only Intro threads in the board.
Directing anyone who is enw and stuck to the Help board.
Please don't forget that those who are part of the staff will also be making sure the JapAnimeUK's rules are being followed (so you need to be up-to-date with them).
Also, any large disputes or problems need to be reported to your direct superior (in hierachy not equality ;-) lol), which at the moment is myself or faye-san as there are currently no Sector Moderators (more on that later, watch this space ;-) ).
I would like to say right here and now, Moderators do not have the ability to warn other members. If a Moderator thinks someone has broken a rule significantly enough to warrant a warning then this must be reported to one of the admins who will decide what to do with that information.
The Process:
Okay ladies and gents, I've rambled enough ^^ -
For those who are interested in applying for a Mod position post in this thread.
You must then be seconded by someone. It doesn't matter who - but it must be someone other than an already existing staff member (which isn't too hard as there are only two of us atm lol).
If there is more than one person seconded for the same position then me and faye-san will either put it to a vote (if there are a lot of people seconded) or decide it ourselves if it's between two. This decision will be made on who has posted the most in that board - we want the most active to be the one in charge, if it comes down to a choice, basically ;-)
So yeah, I think that's all. If anyone has any Qs then feel free to post them in this thread as well ^^

Lol I'm tempted to say yes but I really don't think there's enough going on in there to merit two of you. (No matter how much I love you guys and want to fall prey of that eyebrow wiggling! lol)
My suggestion is you work it out between you. One of you second the other one's claim. Then you both get posting crazy and get more people to the forum so that the GFX board explodes and you'll soon see a lovely message here saying that we need another mod and then the other one can apply ^^.
At the moment you two are like the most active on there so if that stays the same you'll both have a great shot at both being Mods ^^.
And Mike says Intro Mod - anyone second him?

Okay then Emmarrrgh aka Crest has been seconded and if no-one else vouches for the spot by.... I'm gonna say the end of next Friday the Mod position is yours Crest ^^.
Of course if anyone wants to second Stripe you two can go up against each other for the position? :S
And mike - other staff members can't second, so you're out on faye-san. I think that it would also be wise to not accept seconds from other members running for staff. Otherwise cliques may form and try and become staff in big gangs etc.
I'm sure there are other people on the forum who would vouch for you though ^^. I'm just waiting for one of them to post ^^ |

Okay Rennie Ren has applied and been seconded. Same rule applies, if no-one else has claimed the spot by the end of Friday then the spot is yours ^^
Just remember that if no one else signs up you will have to spend a lot of time talking about J-Rock and organising chats etc... u sure you can cope with that? ;-P |
