Hey everyone! I just thought I would let you all know that there is a new skin available for the forum! It's not quite image-perfect yet, as I'm still editing some of the graphics and need to add some more button images, but aside from that, if you fancy using a darker skin than the default one, please go ahead and give it a trial run!  You can change your skin settings in your main profile - the option is a drop-down list located in the Account Preferences section. Feel free to post any comments here so that I can tweak it more to your liking. Enjoy! |

I've been using the Samurai skin for a day or 2 now, and short of some missing buttons, I much prefer it :nod:

It isn't actually the buttons sorry, just some of the text is still black though. So it can't be seen on the black background parts (end of threads, before the reply box).

I really like this skin faye-san ^^ I'm probably gonna make another darker skin that is very similar to the default so that people can choose which default they like for their screens but now they also have a wicked cool samurai one to choose ^^ tis so cool ^^ |

For another, do you think it could be possible to get one without the border (i.e. wider) just so that for those of us with widescreen, we aren't getting as much space wasted?

Hey Jimmeh,
I realise that having a widescreen probably makes this forum look really itty bitty and stupid. I know that it looks quite thin on faye-san's larger screen than my laptop. But I'm afraid that we can't really make it larger.
Please let me explain why -
The coding we have for the forum makes it the width it is.
The colour palette/skin controls the backgrounds, graphics and colours of the forum.
The coding is global and affects each of the skins in the same way.
This means that were we to make the board wider for you for one skin, the other skins would have that same width, which means that the board would not fit the background and the logos would all be the wrong size.
:S basically it would look crap.
Only I know on AL they have a full screen board and that just bugged me. The signatures looked stupidly small and stuff. I personally prefer this smaller one. But that's just me of course. Is it really a problem on your screen? :S
edit: On a side note Jimmeh, I have now editted the skin so that you should be able to see everything okay. I hope that's better? |

No worries, it's not a huge deal. Just in the cases of some forums, the layouts can be differentiated to allow for some tight skins and some wider skins. I've never used ProBoards before, so I'm not sure of the limitations. Hence I keep enquiring about things as they spring to mind |

Jim - Well, please carry on suggesting things, as there are sure to be various little things that Gem and I have missed out and can add/fix As for the width issue - there is a code for proboards to make it so that there are different sets of codes for each skin. However, the only times I've tried it, it was completely full of glitches, and really wasn't worth the hassle, unfortunately  I agree that it would be nice to have a wider forum (like Gem said, I have a pretty wide screen myself! xD), but unless I manage to practically code the thing from scratch myself (which, granted now that I know some Java and C++ is a possibility, I suppose! lol), I don't think it's worth it... |
