Staff Positions Open!
The Positions:- Member Journals Board Moderator
- Anime and Manga Board Moderator
- Video Gaming Board Moderator
The Expectations:
Member Journals Mod: You will be expected to monitor the Member Journals Board. This includes -
Making sure that there is no offensive images/language on the board.
Being active in commenting and chatting on people's journals and encouraging others to check out other journals.
Being responsible for any community chat or competitions in the board. I will be creating a subboard which the Mod for this position will also be Moderator of, for the purpose of starting chat threads about the journals (remember we already have a General Chat board) or for competitions involving "The most active/entertaining journal" etc... This is totally up to you on how you run it.
Welcoming newbies to the Journals board and offering help on how to make their Journal look funky cool etc.
Being generally friendly and accessible.
Anime and Manga Mod: You will be expected to monitor the Anime and Manga Board. This includes -
Monitoring the content use within threads. As in - making sure there are no ads attached to videos shown (if they can be removed), or that there are no offensive images in conversation threads. This includes very large images (like manga pages). These should be constricted back to their URL if they stretch the page but removing the (img) tags.
Being at least very well knowledgable in most anime/manga. You don't have to know everything and anything but a good decent knowledge of both forms would be good here. Or if you would like to find a friend to apply with you we may accept an Anime Mod and a Manga Mod if you have specialist knowledge sectors.
Keeping the forum up to date with any updates concerning new Chaps/Eps.
Being responsible for any community chat threads created. Obviously it's a discussion board and people will create their own chat threads but if any random chat threads are to be created, it would be helpful if the Moderator created them.
Video Gaming Mod: You will be expected to monitor the Video Gaming Board. This includes -
Being well versed in most game plays and being knowledgable in regards to most games.
Again monitoring content use is important as we don't want to get warned by Proboards bosses lol.
Making sure that any random threads for chatting are directed to the General Board - only Video Gaming threads should be in the board.
Please don't forget that those who are part of the staff will also be making sure the JapAnimeUK's rules are being followed (so you need to be up-to-date with them).
Also, any large disputes or problems need to be reported to your direct superior (in hierachy not equality ;-) lol), which at the moment is myself or faye-san as there are currently no Sector Moderators (more on that later, watch this space ;-) ).
I would like to say right here and now, Moderators do not have the ability to warn other members. If a Moderator thinks someone has broken a rule significantly enough to warrant a warning then this must be reported to one of the admins who will decide what to do with that information.
The Process:
Okay everyone you know the drill -
Reply in this thread.
You apply.
Someone seconds you.
If no-one has applied and been seconded before the closing date of apps then the job is yours.
If someone else has been seconded then we (faye-san and I) shall decide between the two or put it to a vote.
Current staff members or those that are also applying cannot second others.
So yeah, I think that's all. If anyone has any Qs then feel free to post them in this thread as well ^^

What I'll say for now is - anyone wishing to second Jim please specify if you are seconding him for a VG Modship or an A&M Modship. We'll treat it as two seperate applications. |
