If you're gonna show, FMA, show Brotherhood instead. More recent so less likely to have been seen.
As for Bleach, I'd say screen one of the movies. It'd be more accessible for people to get into, without having to show the first couple of episodes that fans of the show will already have watched alot.
Haven't seen .hack//GU, but .hack// has a lot of background story in the franchise so again might not be accessible.
I'd recommend Ghost In The Shell 2.0, especially if ya can get the Blu-Ray and a player for it. Also the new Evangelion movies.
Professor Layton and the Curious Diva (Just came out this week actually). Propular franchise, so this could draw people in as well.
Oh, and personally, I thought the Devil May Cry series was pretty terrible.

Okie DokesI have added your suggestions lidylu ^^ Only... is Hellsing Ultimate a sequel series? Because I think it best to stick to original ones so I've just put "Hellsing" is that right? :S Haven't watched it myself so I'm not sure...
I have editted the FMA to Brotherhood for you Jim so hopefully that kills two birds with one stone there (for whoever it was that wanted FMA - i forget)...I have also removed .Hack for - like you said - background story confusingness. I'm also bored with every convention showing some form of .Hack.
But if anyone really really wants it on there then let me know and I'll try and find out whcih series would be the best to show.
I also removed Devil May Cry. At the moment we have quite a few and I'm thinking it'll be easier to just go on opinions as people come in and want to take stuff off and put stuff up.
Added your other suggestions apart from Ghost in the Shell 2.0. I think one Ghost in the Shell is more than enough as it's an age restricted film for good reason and we want to make sure the screenings are as open to all as possible. And if we're going to have only one, it makes sense for it to be the first.
Which Evangelion movie would you like me to put on the list?
Side note: I have also put on Skip Beat and Ouran because I only just realised that they weren't up there yet ^^

With Hellsing it would need to be Hellsing Ultimate rather than just Hellsing, as Ultimate is the superior remake. Two series that I would recommend would be Azumanga Daioh and Blood+

Ooooh it's a remake, not a sequel. Okay, I've changed it.
And I've added your suggestion Iggy ^^ Lol. (I can call you Iggy right? )

If the Bleach screening is going to be a movie, I'd suggest Memories of Nobody, as it's the only one where you don't need to know too much about Bleach... I'd still prefer to have a few of the first episodes in too though, in case there are people that haven't seen it before, and want to know what it's all about without being confused by the movie...
.Hack//Sign would probably be pretty accessible - I knew nothing about the whole franchise when I watched it and it seemed pretty simple to grasp. It's not a bad watch either...

My only problem with .Hack//Sign is that the pacing is very slow - but apart from that I would agree that it's fairly good. I haven't actually watched any Bleach before, so having a couple of introductory could be useful.

Sign is pretty slowed paced.
And Ghost In The Shell 2.0 is a modern remake of GITS. Basically the originally with updated animation, hence my suggestion for it. It isn't a sequel.
And for Evangelion, go with 1.11, although that is similar to the first 6 episodes of the original series. It starts to divulge a lot more with the second film I believe.
As for Bleach, I recommended the film, as its give people a chance to see a lot of characters, with it still being quite accessible.

Oh I agree that a film might be fairly accessible. However, I don't know about anyone else, but I would never watch a film that's based on a series unless I'd seen the series, or at least some of it. I can't be the only one who thinks that, so showing two or three episodes before the film might work better than just showing the film.

Do both if there's time. Seems fair. My only thought is that most anime fans have seen some of Bleach, but maybe haven't seen the films.
