So as with pervious cons that I run the ever popular Cosplay Auction!
So anyone interested in becoming my merchandise for charity?
Here’s the detail as they stand right now:

You come in cosplay and get sold for a dance at the end of night party.
All the money will go to a charity that the convention is supporting
You’re free to come in groups of 2 or 3 and sold for a higher price
Everyone will be sold at a starting bid of £1 and the current max is currently at £150 held by wandercrest.
All bids made on you are none refundable
You will have a dance with those who bought you at the party that night if they don’t show up it’s their money.

My ever helpful and energetic partner in crime is wandercrest she will introduce the character and attendee and ask them for a small reason why they should be bought or for anything they wish to add before the bidding begins
so whos intrested?

I totally love the cosplay auction and am leaving it in TonyB's very capable hands as I know that he does it so well.
What I will add here however is that money going to charity is being discussed and we can't promise whether it will be going to charity, or to making the convention better next year, or being split down the middle etc etc. it may be that it's put into a "profit pot" from the whole convention and then that's split fifty fifty between the next year and charity.
So yeah, just to let you know that the money may not be going as directly to charity as Tony has said here but please rest assured that it will be going to one good cause or the next ^^. We will also have decided this well in advance of the con so we'll let you know then, or even before then if we can. We just haven't quite arranged it yet.
But yosh everything else that Wandercrest and TonyB have said here is totally and utterly true, the event is always fab and usually raises quite a bit of money ^^. When it gets to sign up time a little closer to the event (when you know what your costume is going to be etc) we'll be able to explain to you exactly how it works ^^. |

pffffffffffffft oh you! It really is fun tho, if EACON runs a ball or something, you could make the dates have an official dance with the person who buys them to start said ball It might be incentive! |

That would be cool!! Though it would mean that anyone being auctioned would have to have a cosplay that is okay for a ball.... *ponders*

Most cosplays would be fine for a ball, I know the Grand cosplay ball allowed stuff like full metal alchemis uniforms in \o/ hohoho

:s Last time I was bid on I was wearing a bikini. I don't think that would be allowed at the Ball lol.
But maybe if it were a cosplay/masquerae ball? Therefore you can wear either formal or a cosplay? Or would that take away something from the ball? |

It depends, I saw girls at the cosplay ball wearing cavegirl stuff! If you wanted a formal cosplay ball it would be different!
