Hahaha Gemchan XDDD And well... Basically... The guys all take care of themselves as much as the girls do - Hair is perfect, face is pretty and clothes are lush - Even the refined business men look gorgeous XD I have to say XD So my standards have been raised 83
Okay!
Day 2The second day was gig day! Previously Honey and I had somehow wandered into Shinjuku from Shibuya looking for a LAWSON store to buy gig tickets - We managed to do it no matter how complex people say the machines are, we only got stuck on the part that required us to fill in our names and that was because there was no romaji option for us to use XD But we got some help and eventually got the gig tickets ^_^
In the morning we bought rail passes (16,000 yen for 5 days) which enabled us to take any JR EAST, Narita Express and Shinkansen (Bullet train) to any destination for 5 days.... So we ventured into Harajuku to have a little wander and of course we were dressed for the gig so we looked pretty epic haha XD
We checked out Laforet, which is a big shopping mall - however we pretty much went straight for the basement levels which held all the visual music related stores as well as fashion stores such as Gadget Grow (Omnomnom), Black Peace Now (Omnomnom) and numerous Lolita stores to which I shyed away from (Srsly... Can you imagine me in a baby pink frock with a frilly bonnet?... I didn't think so haha) We came across Putumayo which sells some AMAZING jewelly and accessories (Clothing too but I didn't really check that out) I managed to buy a pocketwatch necklace and this awesome earring with a connecting chain - so my numerous ear piercings loved this XD
The assistants in the shops are so lovely and friendly - They greet you into the store and say thank you and goodbye even if you don't buy anything - We struck up some conversation with a couple, both of which guessed we were going to a live XD It was really nice to be complimented and have a cool conversation with them
Took us a while to find Takeshita Street - But we eventually did and found Closet Child - The Kingdom of J-rock swag XD It sells second hand and new goods so you can find some real treasures in there if you are lucky!
I will go into Harajuku some more later as we return later on in the trip and have a proper look around haha!
Honey and I then travelled to Takadonobaba to go to our first Japanese live - WOOOOO!
It was called "DESTRUCTION IN KSANA" and it featured a variety of artists - Revieя, DEPAIN, VII-Sense, ヴァルナ (Valluna), PERESTROKIA and Unsraw. The venue was really easy to find (Just come out of the train station and turn left then cross the road XD)
When we got inside we ended up on 3rd row, but it was so spacious: We had room to breathe and people swapped around depending on the band(s) they were there to see - We pretty much stayed in the same spot for the whole gig because we wanted to - haha XD
Revieя - I hadn't really listened to these guys before the live, but overall they are a good live band (not too sure about recorded) but I enjoyed their performance - They looked good too ^_^ But this was the point that Honey and I began to realise we must have stood out in the crowd because the members of the band were staring at us and frequently XD Not that we minded~ But because of where we were standing they must have thought we were there to see them - So I hope we gave them some confidence and inspiration in making them think we travelled to Japan from overseas to see them
DEPAIN - As before I hadn't really listened to them much before but they were good live and once again Honey and I got stared at by band members XD So once again I hope we made them feel good by being there! I like how the vocalist rubbed his tummy when doing an MC XD And I like how we saw the guitarist outside the venue before the gig buying a drink from a vending machine and practically had a staring match with him XD
VII-Sense - These guys had an advantage because even though I hadn't heard them specifically, I have known the vocalist (Shaura - formerly known as Juka) for 4+ years haha XD and I had listened to one of the three guitarists in his previous band. I loved them. End of. Three guitarists is phenomenal to experience live and KAZ (One of the guitarists) decided to come over and see us at one point XD He came and sat on the barrier, looked at me and gestured with his finger whilst saying "Come here" repeatedly XD I didn't based on the fact that I would have assaulted him XD But he then caught sight of Honey and decided to get her in on it too XD haha
ヴァルナ (Valluna) - I hadn't heard of this band at all before the live (haha) But HOLY SHIT THE VOCALIST IS CREEPY O__o He was twitching and pulling faces the entire time along with the bassist who I swear played with his tongue out for an entire song XD At one point the vocalist pointed at me and pulled a creepy face haha XD So now the bands were starting to interact with us instead of just plain stare XD
PERESTROIKA - I had loved their former band (Nega) so I half knew what to expect with this new project but they were still awesome and I admit by this point I was so into it that I did a teensy bit of furi... BUT THAT WAS ALL (So far)
Not much interation with these guys - They pretty much played and looked at us a little, but it was still fun and I like their music a lot as I thought I would - Their song, MINDLESS is so addictive ^_^
We kinda had to miss Unsraw even though they were the headlining act because we needed to get back to Narita, but we got our merch and headed on past the suspicious looking people standing at the back (They were basically people from the bands listed above haha) - Sunglasses and face masks only hide your identity if you DON'T have your hair still styled the same way as you did on stage guys haha XD
Now begins my downside to Japan... It was partly our fault for missing the last Narita Express back... But if the last train is at 8pm... Not much time for fun times at night time, is it? So when realising this it was getting late and we basically had to catch the last JR EAST home... It was SO crowded (As you can imagine) And Ren doesn't do too well in crowds :/ So I had a small attack >_<
We then discovered that the last train doesn't go all the way to Narita, but instead it ends in Chiba... So we got stuck in Chiba... It wasn't a nice experience considering my previous paragraph... Luckily because my dad was with us he paid out for a taxi... 14,000 yen to get back to Narita -__- So we got back at 2am >_<
Even still... It was good for the most part haha - And boy was this post long - my apologies haha ^_^
