Why can i not use my own avatar? it will not let me use it???
I can use the readily provided ones but I would prefer to use my own which i've used for years?

Hey Moomba ^^
You should be able to use your own avatar -
Go to "Profile" in the top links.
Where you found the drop down menu for your rabbit avatar there should be a box underneath that says - "Avatar URL"? or something similar.
You can put the URL in there and then put in it's size measurements in the next two boxes down...
Does this make sense? :S |

I've tried that but it doesn't seem to work, i've tried both with the ready made avatar and even selecting no avatar, it just doesn't seem to update =/

Lol don't worry Moomba ^^ You didn't waste my time - helping members is never a waste ;-)
And don't worry about the av prob. Because of how the forum is designed we're using a basic format that is then edited with code that me and faye have inserted. Sometimes the codes go a tad iffy and refuse to work together or something and create a few probs. So long as it's working now we know that there's not a big problem ^^. Which is good because it means less eyesore for me because I don't have to go treking through HTML ^^
The good news with this format though is that I can do that if need be. Some forums won't allow you to do that and if something goes wrong you have to rely on the hoster. We don't have to do that ^^.
Anyway enough of the blabber ^^ I'm glad you got it sorted and that sig is epic ^^. |

Erm, sorry, quick question: I wanted to have my user name as "Flawless Flower" but it wouldn't accept it, neither the capitals nor the space between the words. It only seems to work as "flawlessflower"....but I see many members have both capitals and spaces...is there a way I can change it?

Hey Flawless Flower ^^
This is simple to explain (I hope):
Your username (that is to say, what you use to log in and what people use to send you personal messages) cannot contain any spaces or capitals. That's just the way the username works. But your display name can be completely different to your username and you can change it whenever you like, however many times you like.
To change your display name to Flawless Flower you would go to "Profile" (the link under the logo), "Modify Profile" and then you'll have a box next to "Display Name". Alter it and your name will change.
I'll do it for you this time to save you the trouble but feel free to check it out and see how it all works.
Fair warning - some internet cookies like to insert your password into the "change password" box on "modify profile" automatically. You don't have to put your password in to change your profile. Promise. That's only if you want to change your password. So if your comp does tha automatically you can just clear that box and it'll work fine ^^
