Hey everyone! Kitacon is held annually in Birmingham every spring and we'd love to take a leaf out of it's successful book, so we're asking for feedback from you guys.
We'd like to know if there was anything in particular that stood out for both good and bad so that we can take this into consideration when working on our beloved EACON.
We can't make EACON better without knowing what you, the fans, want from an anime convention. So here's your chance to be brutally honest and tell us what you think...

I went to Kita 10 and to me it was probably the most fun I had at a con in ages! I attended panels which is something I never really did at alcon! :> Scowny's 'professor pouchs hentai panel' was fantastic! Despite falling asleep in it! XD I went to a gameshow panel and won dvds! Went to karaoke, and even entered the Masquerade!  It just had something I wanted to do all the time! Also the nightlife at kitacon is fan'bloody'tastic!  I went to all the main parties and had so much fun it was amazing! The kita ball was wonderful! I even bought a dress for it! it wound up being a random me outfit rather than cosplay as the wig i'd ordered was too light blue! Kita doesn't rely on alcohol for it to be amazing, but alcohol is there if you want it! |

You say the parties were really good? What do you think of people registering their party for EACON and we can list them in the conbook so that they're easy to find and go to? We could also then make sure that the parties stay in loud dorm blocks? Or is it the spontaneoty that makes it fun? |

the spontaniety is part of it! I like parties to have a little supply of alcohol, nothing enough so everyone passes out, but if we were to play a game its plausable! like the first 2 alcons! the parties are best kept to loud blocks out of courtesy to quiet blocks, quiet block memebers are welcome to loud parties and should be able to stay as long as they want if they're paid attendees with dorms! registerd parties may be a good idea as if they're registered they could be really well organized and thought out like we could have people bring a music system to DJ |

Okay, well if the spontaneity (cannot spell that word lol), is part of the fun then how about this-
People can register their party with us and we'll put it in the conbook like- "Wandercrest's Party - J 2.3"
So that they just know where it is and who's running it if they need to speak to the person in charge. We don't put any other info on there and let whoever's running the party run it their way. So if you move location you can put a piece of paper on the door letting people know or whatever. And you can do whatever the hell you want ^^.
We can also say that only those registered in loud dorms are allowed to hold parties? Quiet dorm people are more than welcome to go to the loud dorms of course but he parties are only allowed in the loud dorms?
Alcohol is going to be monitored anyway, and we'll probably be putting signs up for "loud" and "quiet" dorms in case people get ahead of themselves.
This means that we'll easily be able to find a person in charge of a party if something goes wrong and talk to them about it etc etc.
Does that sound like a good compromise between freedom to do what you like but also um.... organised chaos? lol. |

I rather like that idea! Wandercrests party; no faggots need go! XD The alcohol being monitored is a good idea, you guys don't need to deal with barf, or alcohol poisoning! I feel like reviving those awesome con parties that used to happen at alcon! they need to happen! :> The ones where everyone had fun and there was always something happening! |

Cool! This sounds like it's formulating into a very good and very fun plan ^^
And parties are v important in cons - just so long as staff members aren't cleaning up barf later on - ew. That's why having someone in charge of each party would probably be a good idea...
