Vocaloid topic! Hands up who saw this coming from me..! hi emma tee hee

If anyone doesn't already know, Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer application by Yamaha, but with moe mascots; basically, singing robots XD I'll be extremely surprised if anyone hasn't heard of Miku Hatsune, she's the main voicebank that people think of if Vocaloid is mentioned :'D

So, is anyone here a Vocaloid fan, and if so, favourite Vocaloid / songs / producers?

I think my favourite Vocaloid is probably sf-a2 miki, voice-wise, but not many people use her which is a shame - most people instantly think of the Crypton voicebanks, such as Miku and Luka, and forget about the ones made by other companies :'D

And now I'm going to spam you with my favourite songs~! I'm gonna try and stick in something from most genres, so hopefully there's something for everyone :'D

Fff, no, not a problem! It's a program, I probably didn't make that clear enough in my intro post XD The moe characters came after the program, as sort of faces for the voices that were created~

Yeah it is. And is also BIG bussiness in Japan now, although some people are starting to treat them as "real artists"..............a bit far fetched if you ask me.

Hahaha, not really, it's more just... there's a voicebank of like, 'a' 'e' 'i' 'o' 'u' 'ka' 'ke' etc etc, and the program strings them together and changes the pitch and so forth~
Of course, with different voice actors, the results sound different, and the characters were created for each voicebank :'D

So they have a bunch of sounds that they put together and alter into a song and the different voice banks, which I'm assuming came from human voices at some point get these little anime girls as the face to the voice?

That's really quite cool...

Yeah Gem - GACKT has done one XD

I dunno.... technology-wise these creations are phenomenal - it's amazing - I have to hand it to the creators...

But if I'm gonna go on a personal level - I really don't like how they sound - They are amazing for artists who perhaps have the musical theory talent but not the confidence or playing ability - So that's fine.... But I really hope they don't start replacing real artists - To me no one can replace the real thing

But like I said - very clever *nods*

I especially like the controversy over what Aoi from the GazettE posted on his Twitter about the Vocaloid's - though I don't like the end result so much :/
