I haven't been to Japan but I know what Japanese food I like; Karaage, Yakitori (with Negi :B), Chicken Katsu Curry, Chilli Chicken ramen, Chicken ramen, and generally I avoid pork, Pork is disgusting to me.
Beef Teriyaki is also sooo good, and i'm not overly keen on the other Teriyakis v_v also I love sake so much! SO VERY MUCH!

I really need to pay attention to what the different foods are called because generally I love asian food and will eat anything put in front of me. So I never really remember what stuff is called, I just know that if it's Japanese or Chinese or whatever, I'll like it lol.
Hopefully Sarah's new book will help me along on that.
When I get a Chinese though (okay okay I know it's not Japanese) I ADORE the chicken balls you can get with the sweet and sour sauce they dish out in buckets... yummy yummy...

Whereas I'm the other way around... Asian food, because it's so different, I need to know what's in it before I can eat it xD Which is why this recipe book is so useful BTW Gem, I hope you realise that I'll be making mostly fish dishes...... They look the yummiest from this book.

God for a minute there I thought you meant they were eating the cats but now I see that it's like a petting zoo thing lol. That's really quite cute... I wonder how they get around the suing problem and all that when it comes to people with allergies... :S lol.

A Japanese dish I love making, admittedly it isn't Japanese in origin, is korrokke. It's a potato dish that can be stuffed with a number of vegetables or minced meats depending on your dietary choices!
