I'm totally with you there Flawless!
This show totally rocks. I'm currently in love with it.
I finished the first series recently but my laptop is being repaired at the moment and I feel bad stealing Faye-san's laptop all the time so uni is the only access I really have for a computer now. And I can't very well watch anime there. So unfortunately.... I think season 2 is going to have to wait for me to get my laptop back on the 24th... :-( *sniffle*.
Totally love Lelouch - SO interesting - I would love to be in his head. And the whole Zero thing just gives me the shivers (in a good way - gotta love a vigilante).
Suzaku is totally cute as a reincarnation of Syaoran (not literally I mean, but come on - they look identical) and is rather yummy in his Lancelot uniform.
Lloyd is fantastic - he's constantly making me laugh. I feel sorry for his assistant who is probably totally head over heels for him.
I agree with what you said Flawless - there is loads of tragedy in this anime and some seriously mucked up characters with horrid pasts. The only ones who seemed to have their heads on straight is the Britannian Royals and they're supposed to be the bad guys! lol.
But yeah, this is a total 10 out of 10 in my book too... ;-)
Anyone else? I'd be curious to know which women are the most attractive to the boys, as Lelouch and Suzaku are always picked up on by the girls...

Out of the girls, I kind of like Kallen. She has a straightforwardness that's refreshing in a series with so many devious characters - though I do enjoy such deviousness, it's just pleasant that not everyone is scheming away at their hidden agendas. Of course I like Lelouch as well - particularly his sense of melodrama. And fashion

Pimped out costumes seems to be a general theme with CLAMP - which I agree, means that it;s fantastic for cosplayers! I also liked Jonny Yong Bosch as Lelouch. I think he had plenty of practice with crazy laughs when he voiced Vash from Trigun. Didn't he do a commentary? I thought he did one where he joked that the Lelouch wrote the lines to all of his grand speeches on the inside of the Zero helmet I might be mixing that up with Fukuyama's commentary though...

I think Code Geass is great to cosplay, the costumes are so recognizable, from the school uniform of Ashford Academy to the various combat outfits of everyone, they're all stylish and cool. I'm planning on cosplaying C.C. to the next anime convention I attend. Which will probably be EACON ^^ lol.
And yay! Point to Kallen. I like Kallen too.
I haven't heard Johnny's version as I've been watching it so far in sub. But I love the Jap voice for Lulu. His evil laugh is brill!! Lol.

I have indeed watched the second season and greatly enjoyed it - especially the last few episodes. I thought Lelouch was awesome when he... And how very tragic and epic when Suzaku...! And Kallen's fight with ...! Gah!! It seems rather difficult to discuss the best parts of the second season without writing spoilers!

Dangnabit! I need to get onto the second season.
Unfortunately hectic uni has been keeping me from only coming on here in brief spurts (so i still haven't watched those lovely Ouran bloopers *Sniffle*) and stopping me from sitting down and watching any amount of anime... :-( I watched the first season in about three days and I'm hoping to do the same to the second when I have three days spare... :S
If you want to discuss it though then Flawless - you started the thread so if you go to modify on your first post you can edit the title of the thread. If you want to discuss the ending then put [SPOILERS] in the title of the thread and I won't come near it til I've seen it all... I won't be offended ^^ lol.

I liked the ending. I also think that Lelouch really died - otherwise it would take away the nobility of his sacrifice. Though I'm pretty sure Kallen also became aware of what Lelouch had done for the world.
I think Lelouch is a great example of a classical hero - vastly talented, but with fatal character flaws that ultimately result in the necessity of his sacrifice. I agree with you that a lot of the tragedy of Lelouch is how he keeps on finding himself forced to undertake morally dubious actions for the sake of others. I think the best example of this was in the first season when his pride made him accidentally force Euphemia to betray her ideals and kill the Japanese, and despite the guilt he felt he still acted as best he could.
Suzaku becoming Zero seems especially messed up since his established motivation throughout the series was his belief that change had to come from within the system. To then become what he hated, an unaccountable vigilante who would always take actions to preserve his own life over the lives of others (despite his own desires)... it just never seems to get better for Suzaku, does it?

Agreed. I don't really see what they could do with the story that wouldn't be terrifically awful.

Nope! He looked freaked out because he was confused - he was expecting some kind of trick, only to be confronted with some project name that he couldn't remember hearing about (mostly because it didn't exist). Because Zero was mentioning it, he felt that it must exist somewhere and be somehow important, he just couldn't figure out where it was from.
Hope that helps!

Definitely! It's well worth watching! How did Gemma summarise it? I always go with "Death Note, but with giant robots".
