I have a mission ladies and gents, that mission is to completely empty your wallets with the love of our fine hobby! mwhahaha-hahha-haha *cough*. I found something fun for all of us who are into Anime, Tokusatsu and all the rest of it.
there's a chain of stores in Japan that has quality goods from all the brands we usually see at conventions, over the last year or so they opened up an online store, they mostly deal with second hand, damaged boxes/plastic, or old product taking up space in the chains store rooms.
here's the link to them:ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/
now here's the fun bit most of the stuff that's second had isn't used, it is mostly taken out of the box super carefully for the buyers to photo for magazines or blogs or just pulled out to smell the plastic then closed as if it were never opened in the first place then sold back to the store or exchanged for the next one, the rest of the second hand is used on convention or show room floors all over Japan so it goes back slightly used but hardly ever touched!
the store is a good send for models, toys, cosplay costumes, magazines, DVDs, cd's, books and other rare and hard to find product.
for instance the Tiger & Bunny S.H.Figuarts. there sold out. everywhere. you can't get them from any standard toy seller.
-but this site is the only one that stocks them and then there half price too, because there ether box damaged or used for photo shoots!
------------------
now the stores as you can tell are very unusual but here's how to deal with them!
next to an item you will see this:
Example = [Nakano Store] バンダイ S.H.Figuarts 【ワイルドタイガー】 box resealed / not used/box damaged
(this item was used for the example: ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-732654.html )
first you notice Nakano Store, this is the store it comes from, when you can make sure you get stuff from the same store! otherwise your paying multiple shipping since its from all over Japan!
next you see what it is, so in this case an S.H.Figuarts.
then you see what's wrong with it at the end. this ones pretty much ether a crushed box that got put under other stuff or knocked to the floor and slightly stepped on, but the toy itself would be in perfect condition and with all its parts, otherwise it would be marked as such.
the store is good also that it takes them a few days to check if it's all still in stock and will let you cancel if you're really after one item and bought the rest whilst you was there or even to switch out the purchases if you wish if it is out of stock!
all in all a good site, just watch you pay in yen and not £ or $ that can get messy with 4.000yen items and you pay them £4000.
